Professor Judy Roberston discusses one of the first workshops on data science delivered at Newbattle HIgh School - a Digital Centre of Excellence. Pupils were given the opportunity gain experience programming, work with micro-controllers to collect and analyse data, and make decisions about what to do with the information.
The workshop followed 18 months of work with Newbattle High School focusing on the development of digital skills as part of the aspiration to transform the City Region into the data capital of Europe.
